The local jail in Montepulciano, Italy.

We were not sure what crime this little guy committed, but he is behind bars for now and will hopefully serve his time and reenter society completely rehabilitated.

Wine is a part of the Italian culture, but even a people who have it in there everyday lives can over consume every once and a while.  Here we see one of the locals sleeping one off.

Local people of Montalcino, Italy, on an afternoon walk.

Montalcino, Italy - Siesta!  Between 1:00 & 3:00, or 2:00 & 4:00, or 1:00 & 4:00, or whenever the shop owners feels like it - he/she would close their shop and take siesta.

You can't be in a hurry when you are in Italy because everything might be closed for the afternoon.

It's like getting a city all to yourself.

Montalcino, Italy - Siesta!

Taking a moment to go for a walk during the mid-day siesta.

Siesta time could make you 'loose your head' if it were not something you were used to.

Yes - I know - bad joke, right?

Montalcino, Italy - One thing I do like is outside dining, and Italy has a lot of that.

I think more cities in the United States should do this.  It really makes for a nice, vibrant, atmosphere.

Montalcino, Italy - A park in the center of town.  A great place to relax and enjoy lunch/dinner (bistro seating on the right - part of one of the towns restaurants).

Florence, Italy - a city with a pleasant atmosphere resembling a medieval center with museums and sculptures throughout the city.
