Florence, Italy - Some of the sculptures that can be found throughout the city.  The 'David' you see here is one of Michelangelo's replicas. The original is located in the Galleria dell'Accademai.

Florence, Italy - Human sculptures - These (and many other) performers would stand perfectly still until a generous patron would give them some money - at which time they would come alive and interact with the generous person who donated to their cause.

Florence, Italy - A view of the Galleria degli Uffizi (The Gallery of Masters).

Unfortunately, the Galleria degli Uffizi and the Galleria dell'Accademai which houses Michelangelo's most famous sculpture (one of Michelangelo's replicas is pictured above) does not allow pictures of any of the artwork to be taken.

You can visit the websites for more information.

Florence, Italy, a city that is very much 'alive.'  Merchants...

Entertainment...

Craftsmen...

Artists.

It really is a city that has something for everyone to enjoy.

A view of the Ponte Vecchio - the oldest and most famous bridge in Florence.  Originally for food shops in the 15th century the shops were assigned to goldsmith and silversmiths and they still run the shops to this day - if you are looking for gold or silver this is the place to go.

Florence, Italy - the easiest, and most widley used form of transportation - scooters and motorcycles.

Buzzing around the city like a swarm of bees - if you are not careful you will quickly find yourself in an accident - they are everywhere.

Florence, Italy - Duomo (cathedral) of Florence, Italy.

Florence, Italy - Outside of the Galleria dell'Accademai.  Street merchants were displaying their copies of famous artworks all for sale for the right price, of course.

Unfortunately, the Galleria degli Uffizi and the Galleria dell'Accademai which houses Michelangelo's most famous sculpture (one of Michelangelo's replicas is pictured above) does not allow pictures of any of the artwork to be taken.
